Web is an abbreviation for the World Wide Web.

A web page is a document that you can look at on the World Wide Web using your web browser. Web Pages are authored and displayed by website publishers.

A webcam is a video camera that connects to your system. Used for video-conferencing over the Internet.

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning)

 

A set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that allows multiple users to not only read but also to add, delete, and change documents residing on a web server.

 

In order to use WebDAV you need WebDAV client software to connect to a HTTP server that has the WebDAV extensions installed.

 

Virtually all common HTTP servers have WedDAV extensions available to them.

A website is a collection of pages that you can look at on the World Wide Web using your web browser. Websites have an index or home page as a starting point that gives access to the information or files offered.

Wide Area Network (WAN)

 

A wide area network (WAN) is a geographically dispersed network, usually connecting sites or users in different locations. The term distinguishes a broader telecommunication structure from a LAN (local area network). A wide area network may be privately owned or rented, but the term usually denotes the inclusion of public (shared user) networks.

 

An intermediate form of network in terms of geography is a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)

Wi-Fi

 

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity and applies to the technology used to connect local area networks wirelessly. WiFi wireless standards include 802.11b or 802.11g. Wi-Fi enabled devices such as computers, mobile phones and PDAs are able to connect to the Internet when near a Wi-Fi access point. The region covered by one or several WiFi access points is called a hotspot. Hotspots can range from a single room to huge areas of overlapping hotspots covering many square miles.

Wikipedia

 

Wikipedia is a World Wide Web encyclopaedia that has developed global coverage of factual data due to the contribution of Wikipedia's many users. Anyone can add to, or edit, any article on the Wikipedia website merely by accessing an article on the site using a web browser. Wikipedia users (in general) do not have to be members or otherwise register in order to add to or edit a Wikipedia articles, though some articles are "fixed" (for example the main entry page to Wikipedia) and can only be edited by senior Wikipedia members.

A Window is a part of the screen where your computer programs and software run. With multi-tasking operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Macintosh Desktop you can have several windows open at the same time. This means that you can work on many tasks and switch from one to the other easily. Windows are easily moved, resized, opened and closed.

A worm is a malicious computer program that can make copies of itself, hide on your computer and spread over the Internet Worms are unwanted attacks on a computer system and frequently (for instance) delete files, hijack personal data and information, or use your computer system to send spam emails without your knowledge.
